THE Hobbit Reggae Beach Party is back again for the 12th year. and this year the legend continues with a live reggae special.

The daytime garden party, from midday til 8pm, features Bournemouth’s Dubheart, Jamaican star Mikey General and The Ohmz.

The evening, from 8pm til 3am, sees the party move indoors for a big session of floor rumbling roots and dub sound system, hosted by Southampton’s Reverence Sound alongside guest DJs and vocalists.

Dubheart started playing out in 99, after various additions and losses to the line up the core players have remained the same being Mark Shepherd on bass, Gavin Sant on drums, Richard Ramsey on guitar, Dave Mountjoy on keys and ragga/hiphop MC Tenja on vocals. The band has supported and worked with great artists including The Wailers, Macka B and Don Letts.

One of Reggae’s most exciting talents in conscious vocals is that of Mikey General.

His high tenor voice like a warm breeze over the ocean carries a message of faith and optimism and his unyielding devotion and genuine sincerity sets this singer apart from the rest.

Mikey General has spent decades honing his talent, navigating the upper echelon of producers and studios in the reggae industry both in the United Kingdom and Jamaica.

This summer, Isle of Wight Reggae band The Ohmz will launch brand new debut album, Positivity, ranging from relaxed to upbeat and simply too irresistible not to get on your feet.

Tickets cost £5.
