NOSTALGIA will be sweeping the grounds of Eastleigh’s Concorde Club when the Southampton West Rotary Club presents a Big Band Concert on Sunday.

Last year’s event was a sell out with proceeds going to Rotary charities.

Starting at midday, it promises to be another mouth watering treat for big band fans.

Southampton born crooner Eddy Hailwood will be re-creating songs from the golden age of music.

He had played in groups over many years but always had a burning ambition to be a solo singer. It was when he turned 60 that Eddy decided it was time to make it as a vocal performer. For more than 40 years the Southampton born entertainer ran his own music store selling guitars and drums. Now he is making his own sweet music. A first class standards singer, he has developed a unique vocal blend of artistes like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Michael Bublé

As well as learning to be a crooner there will be a chance during the big band concert to learn to Lindy dancing with Gary and the Lindy Hoppers and sing along with Andy ‘George Formby’ Whittaker.

The musical line-up includes Swing Unlimited Big Band supported by Highcliffe Charity Players.

It will also be a stylish day with fashions from the forties, along with stalls, barbecue and restaurant.

There will also be a chance to see clothing and shoes from 40s and 50s.

Tickets are available from Rotary Club on 02380270216 or 01489 795694 or The Concorde on 02380613989.
