AS ever, freewheeling Barnstormers Comedy resident MC Kevin Precious will be on hand to introduce three more top acts from the London circuit and beyond at the Winchester event tonight.

This month, they are the delightfully funny Brummie lass that is Karen Bayley, the endearingly cynical Nick Dixon and superb comic savant Michael Fabbri.

Karen Bayley is the first ever female winner of the prestigious Comedy Store King Gong award, and was also a BBC New Comedy Awards Showcase final and Babycham Funny Women finalist, all when launching onto the UK comedy circuit in 2003. She has quickly picked up a whole host of rave reviews, comedy awards and references from her peers.

Her material surprises with inspired and sparkling punchlines, with comic timing that is rarely less than brilliant.

Nick Dixon has appeared twice on the TV show Comedy Central at the Comedy Store, and was one of the standout performers on both occasions.

His YouTube clip from that show led him, in 2017, to be chosen by Will Smith’s team to work onset with Will on the new Disney movie, Aladdin. Nick worked directly with Will, watching scenes and coming up with jokes to add to the script.

In 2017 Nick also opened for Gad Elmaleh, Europe’s biggest comedian with 7.8 million Twitter followers, for three nights at the Soho Theatre. Before that he supported Tom Stade on two national tours of the UK.

His style is self-deprecating yet boastful, beautifully-structured yet spontaneous, intelligent, unique, and naturally funny.

With a dark and honest approach to some of life’s more touchy subjects, Michael Fabbri manages to effortlessly slip between some harsh, controversial topics to light-hearted silliness to make for a refreshingly eclectic and brilliantly funny act.

He quickly stamped his mark on the UK circuit, appearing in the 2003 final of Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny?, and rapidly earned a reputation as one of the most promising up and coming comedians on the circuit.
