If you go down to Durley in May you’re sure of a big surprise!

A much-loved family event is back in time for the summer half term holidays from 26th May – the Durley Bear Hunt returns and promises to be bigger than ever.

The Durley Bear Hunt began in 2014 and is a biennial fund raising event organised by the Durley School Association.

The concept of the Durley Bear Hunt follows the same lines as the Scarecrow Festival, the local community display dressed up bears to a theme in their front gardens, up trees, across fields and even on roof tops. Each display is given a number and a name plaque so those spotting them can add them to their list. Previous entries include Cinderbearla, Bear Grills and Beary Poppins.

This fantastic display of colour and character brings the community together searching for their favourite bear display

Last time the hunt raised almost £900. All funds raised go to the Durley Primary School.

If you want to take part by exhibiting a bear or by joining the hunt, or both, visit www.durleybearhunt.co.uk for more details.
