NEXT Friday (January 26) why not end gloomy January with a healthy dose of laughter at Salisbury Arts Centre?

Barnstormers brings you three great comedians from the London comedy circuit introduced by a guest compere. The no-nonsense Barnstormers Comedy MC Debra-Jane Appleby will return to introduce three more great acts from the London Comedy Circuit and beyond. This month they will be: the delightfully off-kilter Henry Paker, hilarious musical oddball Robert White and faded matinee idol Troy Hawke.

DEBRA-JANE APPLEBY

Winner of both The Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, and Funny Women Comedy Award, Debra-Jane has appeared BBC's 28 Acts in 28 Minutes and on Comedy Central's The World Stands Up as well as regular appearances on BBC Radio 5 Live, and as a guest on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour. Debra performs up and down the country with her Northern no-nonsense take on the world, gaining accolades wherever she goes.

HENRY PAKER

After a brief career in computer animation Henry Paker decided to give comedy a go. He started out doing stand up in rooms above pubs, then in rooms below pubs and then eventually in the main body of the pub itself. In 2008 he won the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and realised he might be onto something. Since then Henry’s many comic talents have seen him carve out a career as a comic writer, stand up, actor and cartoonist. Henry took his first solo hour of stand up Edinburgh Festival in 2010 and followed it up with his acclaimed show Cabin Fever in 2011 and Classic Paker in 2013. His narrative comedy show, The Golden Lizard, won him and Mike Wozniak the Best New Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2011, and went on to sell out a run at London’s Soho Theatre.

ROBERT WHITE

Since he first came onto the stand-up scene, as a finalist in the prestigious Hackney Empire competition, Robert White has gone from strength to strength, and in 2010 won the Malcolm Hardee main award at the Edinburgh Festival. He now is a sought after act who regularly performs in big clubs, little clubs and those in-between around the UK and sometimes abroad. He is a versatile performer who does both musical comedy or straight stand-up and can MC, as well as having written for other comedians and for TV panel shows.

TROY HAWKE

Milo McCabe is a character comedian with over ten years experience on the circuit. He has twice been nominated for the Amused Moose Best Edinburgh show award and was listed as GQ's Top Ten comedy shows of the festival. TV credits include ITV'S Benidorm, BBC3's Live at the Electric and various hidden camera and talking heads projects on Channel 4 and 5. As himself, he is shortly to appear in US documentary 'Everyone has an Andy Dick story'. As Troy Hawke he is currently touring comedy clubs and festivals.

Barnstormers Comedy takes place at Salisbury Arts Centre next Friday 26 January at 8.30 pm (doors open at 7.45 pm). Tickets are £12 and £11 for concessions, available online at www.salisburyartscentre.co.uk or from Salisbury Arts Centre box office on 01722 321744.
