ANTON Du Beke may have been voted off Strictly Come Dancing last weekend but fans can watch him perform live when he tours in the New Year.

Together with his long-term professional dance partner Erin Boag he is bringing ‘Broadway to Hollywood’ to Southampton Mayflower on Sunday 21 January as well as Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Saturday February 3.

A stunning new production of dance, music and song, 'Broadway to Hollywood’ showcases the undisputed talent of the nation’s favourite ballroom couple and a stellar supporting cast including brilliant star vocalist Lance Ellington, six world-class Ensemble Dancers and the 25-piece London Concert Orchestra conducted by Richard Balcombe.

We can expect sensational choreography, sparkling costumes, a musical score to include such classics as ‘Somewhere in Time’, ‘Cry Me a River’, ‘Mr Bojangles’, ‘Downtown’, ‘This Nearly Was Mine’, ‘New York, New York’, ‘Couple of Swells’ and ‘Libertango’ - and a performance befitting the King and Queen of the ballroom. The show will also feature a ‘Q and A’ section providing fun interaction with the audience.

Erin, who has been dancing professionally with Anton for 21 years, spoke to the Daily Echo about the tour and shared her views on Strictly 2018.

"Broadway to Hollywood will be our tenth tour together celebrating a decade of dance. It's amazing how quickly time goes by- sadly it just goes like that," said Erin, who was a dancer on Strictly from the start in 2004 until departing at the end of the 2014 series.

She revealed they have already started preparing for the tour and will continue working on their solo pieces between now and Christmas as they have "huge ensemble pieces" to work on after Christmas. The tour runs from January through to March and Erin, 42, admits it's a daunting prospect keeping fit.

"You can't get injured because if there is no Anton and Erin there's not going to be a show. You have to keep fit because once you start out you are in it with no time off at all."

Erin also has her three year old son Ewan to consider but is calling on the best help she knows from the other side of the globe - her mum!

"Mum is coming over from New Zealand which gives me peace of mind. It's lovely as my husband is around but it's not the same as having Nana. I know he will be absolutely fine as Nana's there on 'Nanna duties'.

"With it being our 10th anniversary it will be an extra special show. We are trying to create a new show whilst also bringing some of our best bits back."

So how did she feel about Anton and This Morning host Ruth Langford's exit from Strictly last week?

"It was sort of their time. I don't mean it in a mean way. They had a good run. Ruth has been brilliant and I know Anton had a lovely time.

"We have more time to think about the tour now but Strictly is still keeping Anton busy. I think Ruth's husband Eamonn [Holmes]is pleased to have his wife back because it's so time consuming. They have no idea until they are in it; you do get stuck in the Strictly bubble, which is fine."

And who does she think will lift the glitterball trophy this year?

"I think it's a little early to tell. Debbie [McGee] and Alexandra [ Burke] are both absolutely brilliant for totally different reasons depending on the style of dance they are doing. But then there are people like Joe [McFadden] who is a bit like Chris Holland : they started out not so great and built up. And then there's the tall and elegant Davood [Ghadani] who has improved a lot. So there are no clear front runners even though Debbie is tipped to win it. It comes down to the public vote and I have no idea what the public will think.

"What we see in the studio and they see at home is very different. It's very different when you are sitting in the studio, whereas they see things from different camera angles at home and you don't get the whole atmosphere as when you are there live. It's like when people come to a show of ours. They don't realise how quick it is, the speed of it and how difficult it is. "

Does she miss Strictly?

"Some bits I miss. I retired after ten years, four years ago because I wanted to start a family. It does take over your life. I miss the adrenaline rush and the lovely relationship and bond you build with your dance partner. Because you are together all the time you build a special bond and friendship. Some bits I don't miss: as a pro you must be 110 per cent dedicated and I know my son is only small and I would miss him. I've got a great work-life balance; I still dance and do what I want to do. The only thing I stopped was Strictly. When you are in it you have to spend all your time in the place where your dance partner lives. For me that has been places like Cardiff and Leicester - it could be anywhere. Once it was Copenhagen because that's where Peter Schmeichel the Danish footballer lives. When I was partnered with him I'd be there Monday to Friday and then back to London for the weekend for the show. "

What are her thoughts on new Head Judge Shirley Ballas who took over from Len Goodman after he stepped down as head-honcho of the Strictly Come Dancing panel after 14 years. She beat off stiff competition, after all, from the likes of Anton Du Beke and Brendan Cole for the cherished BBC seat beside Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell.

"I think she's brilliant. I'm really glad they chose someone from a ballroom and Latin background. What she brings to the show is great. We are always going to miss Len but we must move on. "
