HE is the Welsh singing sensation who shot to fame in the eighties as a teenage chorister.

Now Aled Jones is set to rock Eastleigh.

Aled , who has just released a new album,which is a father and son production, is headlining a special one off concert at Eastleigh’s Concorde on January 19.

He was 12 when he became one of the world’s most successful boy sopranos, releasing 12 hit albums in 4 years.

And his career defining moment came with Walking in the Air, the hit song from the animated film The Snowman.

]He has sung for the Pope and the Royal Family, has received an MBE, released more than 30 albums, with more than 10 million album sales, scooping 40 Silver, Gold and Platinum Discs.

Aled says that even now at the age of 46 people still think of him as a whiter than white choirboy.

Although his name will always be linked with prime viewing programmes like TV’s Songs of Praise his wide ranging broadcasting career includes Cash In The Attic and Going Back Giving Back.

Millions saw him co-present the ITV breakfast show, Daybreak, with Lorraine Kelly.

He has worked for BBC Radio 2 and 3 and for the last 15 years has had a regular spot on BBC Radio Wales.He is also the popular host of the Classic FM Sunday Breakfast Show.

Away from broadcasting he continues his successful recording career. One Voice and One Voice At Christmas were the two top selling classical albums of 2016. He jokes has made 26 albums more than Beyonce but two less than Elton John.

His latest album, One Voice: Believe sees him duet with his younger self as well as with his 12 year-old son Lucas.
