A SOLD out audience will be some of the first to enjoy comedy King Michael McIntyre's new show at Mayflower Theatre next week.

The highest grossing comedian in the world will be trying out new material in a work in progress night on Thursday.

The celebrated stand up and host of Saturday night entertainment series Michael McIntyre's Big Show and BBC One comedy programme Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, has also featured in Live at the Apollo and has been a judge on Britain's Got Talent.

Michael has released four DVDs, Live and Laughing, Hello Wembley, Showtime and Happy and Glorious, that have sold a combined total of over five million copies in the UK.

His many comedy panel show and chat show appearances include Chris Moyles' Quiz Night, Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News for You, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Would I Lie To You?, The Apprentice: You're Fired!, Alan Carr: Chatty Man and Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.

McIntyre has also co-hosted various segments of Comic Relief on BBC One and has appeared on the Royal Variety Performance three times, including in 2010 when he became the youngest ever host.

His tours regularly include upwards of 70 arena dates, playing to nearly 750,000 people, his 2012 tour including a record breaking ten nights at the 02 Arena in London.

He has high hopes for his next tour, but will tweak the material depending on audience reaction at his warm up dates.
