THE classic children’s book The Tiger who Came To Tea by Judith Kerr is coming to Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre next week in a live version.

Direct from a smash-hit West End season the performances on Monday 17-Tuesday 18 April come ahead of dates at Southampton's Mayflower Theatre on October 13-15.

The stage adaptation of the tale of teatime mayhem is directed by David Wood OBE, creator of the Olivier Award winning West End version of Goodnight Mister Tom. Packed with oodles of magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos, the show tells the story of one particularly eventful afternoon for Sophie and her mummy, when a large furry visitor comes to call…

The Tiger Who Came To Tea is an hour of magical theatre and musical fun for those aged 3+ and their grown ups.

The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don’t expect to see at the door is a big, stripy tiger!

David Wood OBE is indisputably the country’s leading writer and director of plays and musicals for children. His many successes include The Gingerbread Man, BFG, The Witches, Meg and Mog, Spot and Babe the Sheep Pig.

The tea-guzzling Tiger roars in this truly magical Olivier Award nominated production, straight from a smash-hit international tour and West End Christmas run at the Lyric Theatre.
