SALISBURY Playhouse continues its series of special one night events showcasing dance, music and comedy.

Tonight (Friday March 17) internationally renowned vocalist and BBC Radio 3 presenter Claire Martin and legendary saxophonist Ray Gelato are joined by a trio of renowned musicians for A Swingin’ Affair. They will explore The Great American Songbook with classics including Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off, They Can’t Take That Away From Me and They All Laughed. This is a perfect night out for those who like their music sassy, sharp and swinging.

On Saturday ( March 18) acclaimed stars of the West End stage, The Reduced Shakespeare Company, are back with another barnstormingly irreverent and breathtakingly hilarious celebration of our cultural heritage with William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged). In a better-late-than-never nod to the bard’s 400th anniversary, the bad boys of abridgement present this “new” play, as discovered in a Leicester car park and now mercifully abridged from its full hundred hour running time to a more palatable ninety minutes.
