IT is one of the biggest singing competitions in the UK.

But The Voice has snubbed Southampton in favour of Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Isle of Wight.

This comes less then a week after the fellow ITV show, X Factor failed to draw crowds to their auditions in Westquay.

As previously reported acts were advised to turn up early to the open auditions however the queue failed to reach more than 12 people all day.

Both events are part of nationwide audition tours, which will visit cities around the country.

Singers who auditioned at Westquay, were recorded and they will find out if they are successful in the next few months.

The Voice open mic nights will take place in Portsmouth on April 25 at Little Johnny Russells and at Chaplins Cellar Bar in Bournemouth on the following day.
