ULTRAVOX front man and Band Aid hero Midge Ure performs in Hampshire next week.

He brings his 'Something from Everything' show to The Theatre Royal in Winchester on Thursday February 16.

Midge Ure’s career, so far, spans over 40 years – from his pop band beginnings and almost joining the Sex Pistols to the mainstream success of Ultravox and his solo releases.

And that's not forgetting his groundbreaking electronic work with Visage: the single Fade To Grey is still voted #1 in its genre across Europe.

Midge enjoyed particular success in the 1970s and '80s in bands including Slik, Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids and Visage, and most notably Ultravox. In 1984 Ure co-wrote and produced the charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?", which has sold 3.7 million copies in the UK. The song is the second highest selling single in UK chart history. He co-organised Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 with Bob Geldof.

Midge is also known for being the producer and writer of several synthpop/new wave hit singles of the 1980s, including "Fade To Grey" (1980) by Visage and the Ultravox signature songs "Vienna" (1980) and "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes" (1984), for which he was also on lead vocals.

In 1985 his solo debut album The Gift, which reached number two in the UK Albums Chart, included the UK number one single "If I Was". His other other UK top-30 solo hit singles are: "No Regrets", "That Certain Smile", "Call of the Wild" and "Cold, Cold Heart".

The Something from Everything tour will touch on the broad reach of Midge Ure’s recorded output; “I decided it would be a fun idea to play something from every album I have recorded right from the Rich Kids, via Visage and Ultravox, to my latest solo album, Fragile”, he said.
