THE fascinating work of Bournemouth artist Geoff Storer is on display at Christchurch Regent Centre from tomorrow.

In this one-man exhibition which runs until Friday February 10, some 29 paintings will be on view in the Regent Foyer in both Oil and Watercolour. They cover a wide range of subject matter from traditional landscapes to amusing watercolour renditions of tools from the tool shed!

Geoff hopes to be in frequent attendance at his exhibition to chat about his style and portrayal and what first appeals to him as an artist and creates that all important inspiration for his paintings.

For Geoff, who has been painting in Oils and Watercolours for over forty years, painting acted as an antidote in the early days for his day job in Marketing but since retirement he now enjoys the luxury of painting full time. Living in Dorset has been a real bonus as the county has so many picturesque beauty spots to paint.

Geoff’s work has been described as 'photo realistic' and while thoroughly enjoying traditional landscape work, he has always had a fascination for unusual subjects like the tools that surround him in his workshop. People, too, are a particular favourite as subjects for his art, because he can capture them in paint from all walks of life in their working environment. Occasionally, Geoff will be inspired by his subjects to venture into light-hearted caricature which can be used to emphasize their idiosyncrasies!
