THE usual thrills and spills at Hampshire's Paultons Park have been cranked up this half term as the theme park stages a spook-tacular Hallowe'en event.

Throughout the school holiday extra monstrous entertainment is being laid on for guests that is all included in the admission price.

The park has been taken over by a host of Hallowe'en characters who meet and greet visitors to the park and lead a host of frighteningly good entertainment incuding a Monster's Ball show.

That was certainly a highlight for my little gang as we paid a visit to the park just on the edge of the New Forest this half term.

It's not often you can enjoy performing the Time Warp with an oversized pumpkin!

The characters also pop up around the park throughout the day offering spooky photo opportunities and also judging a fancy dress competition held in the afternoon.

The 4D cinema has also got into the creepy spirit as Show Street has been transformed into a spooky avenue with hay bales and pumpkins.

The extra entertainment made it even more difficult to get around all of the rides at the ever-growing park into just one day. Home to Peppa Pig World and the newly opened dinosaur-themed Lost Kingdom which boasts some thrilling rides, we felt like we were wasting time just having lunch.

All the favourites including the log flume and Wave Runner still proved a big hit with the older kids whilst the Trekking Tractors, the carousel and the trampolines were a big hit with the younger members of the family.

Paultons never loses the ability to entertain kids (and adults!) of all ages with a great mix of rides, beautiful gardens and excellent choice of eateries.

It is no wonder it secured a Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice award.

Tickets can be booked now for the Hallowe'en spectacular which runs until October 31. Bookings are also being taken for the Christmas at Paultons event which starts next month event. Find out more at paultonspark.co.uk
