THE Berry Theatre promises fantastic family theatre and bold stand-up comedy this autumn.

Associate Artists Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company kick off a season of family entertainment with their kooky adaptation of The Elves and the Shoemaker on September 17. Expect mischievous puppets and surprises aplenty in this quirky tale, perfect for all aged 3 years and up.

MONSTRO Theatre presents Bookstory on October 8. Set in a library, the show explores our relationship with novels in a digital age through the use of puppets and live music.

The series of Live Screen events continues with National Theatre Live’s The Deep Blue Sea on October 13 and Branagh Theatre Live’s The Entertainer on October 27.

Shappi Khorsandi returns to the Borough on October 22 with Oh My Country! Expect everything from Morris Dancing to Morrissey in this celebration of 40 years since her arrival in Britain.

Underneath a Magical Moon is brought to the stage by tutti frutti and York Theatre Royal on October 24. This enchanting reimagining of Peter Pan, as told by Wendy Darling, places you in a fantastical world of adventure.

Blackeyed Theatre returns on November 4 with Frankenstein. This is a fearless portrayal of Mary Shelley’s seminal genre-defining novel, suitable for all aged 11 and up.

Goblin Theatre presents Penguin! Elephant! on November 12. Suitable for the whole family, this witty comedy show has original songs aplenty and a magical balloon ride.

Omid Djalili presents Shmuck For a Night on November 12. He's provocative, intelligent and full of irresistible energy.

The Berry Theatre’s creative team returns to the stage with Shakespearience on November 17. Created to engage local school pupils in the arts,the programme marks 400 years since Shakespeare’s death as the cast perform his swansong, The Tempest.

Living Spit presents A Christmas Carol on December 1. Join Ebenezer Scrooge as he meets three mysterious phantoms, charged with changing his view on the festive period.

Mitch Benn is on stage on December 2 with Don’t Believe a Word, which promises satire and music aplenty.

Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company close the season with festive production The Little Red Hen, made in association with The Berry Theatre. This witty and engaging puppet show is a clever retelling of the nursery school favourite and runs from December 12 to 24.

Continuing throughout autumn on select dates is Saturday Storytime. A firm favourite for young people aged 3-7 and their grown ups, join in the fun this season as you step inside a magical wood for storytelling, song and play.

Alongside a programme of brilliant theatre and comedy, The Berry Theatre also screens Finding Dory, Pete’s Dragon and The Secret Life of pets, plus more.
