BRINGING cinema to the great outdoors, Film on a Farm is back for 2016.

Launched last year, six screenings of top films are planned for this summer at Manor Farm in Droxford, a working farm with stunning views in the heart of the South Downs National Park.

Tom Cruise gets the season under way on May 27 with Top Gun. As students at the US Navy's elite fighter school compete to be best in the class, one daring young pilot learns a few things from a civilian instructor that are not taught in the classroom.

The 80s classic is closely followed by Abba musical rom com Mamma Mia on May 29. Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is about to be married and wants her estranged father to walk her down the aisle. After reading her mother’s diary she discovers that any one of three men could be her father. She invites all three to the wedding without telling her mother Donna (Meryl Streep) with the belief that she will immediately recognise him in the trio. It also stars Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Julie Walters.

Perfectly British romantic comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral follows the fortunes of lovable, bumbling bachelor Charles (Hugh Grant) and his friends as they wonder if they will ever find true love and marry on July 8.

Young film fans will adore Disney classic The Lion King on July 9. Young lion Prince Simba is cast out of his pride by his cruel uncle Scar, who claims he killed his father. With the uncle now ruling with an iron fist, the Prince grows up alone apart from two friends he meets along the way - Timba (a Meerkat) and Pumbaa (a Warthog). When his past comes back to haunt him, the young Prince must decide his fate: will he remain an outcast, or face his demons and become the Lion King.

There's another Hugh Grant favourite on September 9 in the form of Notting Hill. William Thacker (Grant) is an unsuccessful Notting Hill bookstore owner whose personal life is equally in shambles. Struggling to make ends meet, divorced and no prospect of love on the horizon his life changes when Anna Scott (Julia Roberts), the world's most beautiful woman and best loved actress enters his shop.

Grease wraps up the season on September 10. It's California 1959 and Head T-Bird Danny Zuko (John Travolta) and Australian Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John) have fallen in love during a summer break. As summer ends, the two think they'll never see each other again but as fate has it Sandy and her parents move to America.

Film on a Farm is an outdoor cinema experience created by Chris Horn, a fourth generation farmer and film lover.

A local barbecue, exquisite cocktails and local ales are all available, as well as VIP deckchair seating or plenty of room for a picnic and blanket.
