CLASSIC action film Die Hard will return to big screens across the UK tomorrow night at special charity screenings in tribute to the life and career of the late British actor Alan Rickman.

The movie, starring Rickman in one of his most iconic roles as villain Hans Gruber, opposite Bruce Willis' now infamous John McClane, will be shown at 8.15pm.

Odeon Southampton will take part in the one-off special screening, with all profits from ticket sales going to Cancer Research UK.

Die Hard stars Bruce Willis as grizzled NYPD cop John McClane, desperately trying to save his wife Holly Gennaro and her colleagues, taken hostage by German terrorist Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles.

"Die Hard is one of the all-time great action films, and Alan Rickman's sinister Hans Gruber is a true icon amongst cinema villains," said Andy Edge, Commercial Director at Odeon.

"We're pleased to be working with Cancer Research UK on these screenings, as they're an opportunity for our guests to celebrate the work of one of the finest actors in the business, whilst simultaneously supporting a worthy cause."

Tickets are on sale now and can be booked without booking fees at odeon.co.uk/films/Die_Hard_Charity_Screening/100891/
