THE year is 1890 and the dashing Englishman, Rudolf Rassendyll, is on a tour of the European Continent and finds himself in the beautiful Kingdom of Ruritania - not knowing that he happens to be an exact double of the nation’s new King!
However, his holiday is unexpectedly transformed into the adventure of a lifetime when the King is kidnapped by his wicked, power-hungry uncle on the very eve of his Coronation.
When the King’s advisors persuade Rudolf to impersonate the King until he can be rescued, Rudolf does battle with a string of villains and his own conscience, as those around him realise he may well be a better man than the real King.
