AFTER taking the United States by storm through three years of WWE action, Welsh force Mason Ryan is back in Britain and is set to headline a summer spectacular from All Star Wrestling at Bournemouth’s Pavilion Ballroom on Thursday (August 27) when opposing transatlantic heavyweight dynamo Sam Adonis.

Blond bombshell Adonis, from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, has never looked back since first following in the wrestling footsteps of his elder brother who campaigns around the world as Sterling J Keenan.

Adonis storms into the ring draped in a Stars and Stripes flag and with the strains of ‘Born in the USA’ ringing around the hall then, with hair flying, always takes a very direct approach.

The muscular Ryan, alias Barri Griffiths from Porthmadoc in North Wales, first campaigned as Gladiator Goliath, sticking to the name used when he took part in the revived ITV show ‘Gladiators’ during 2009.

He keeps himself in tip top physical condition with a style developed from a distinguished amateur career and has also seen action in Japan.

The Bournemouth programme starts at 7.30pm and is part of a 45th anniversary tour by All Star, now easily Europe’s longest-estblished wrestling promotion.

More top contests will be on the line at the Pavilion Ballroom as Jonny Storm demonstrates his all-round talent in a clash with Marty Scurll, the East Anglian campaigner who has adopted a much more controversial style in recent times.

Further American talent will be on view as ring magician Chad Collyer takes on the Hampshire’s ever energetic campaigner Andy Simmonz.

There’s also international ladies action with Australian sizzler Toni Storm facing a tough test from Kay Lee Ray, the flame haired Scottish star who made a big impression in the TNA’s British Boot Camp series last winter, figuring in the final stages of the event in the USA.

Tickets from the Pavilion box office, telephone 0844 576 3000.
