TONIGHT for the first time, the Bournemouth Air Festival welcomes ‘Power from the Sea’ – an additional evening of music to its ‘Night Air at the Piers’ entertainment programme, courtesy of official commercial radio partner Wave 105.

HM Royal Marines Band Collingwood will take to the beaches in ceremonial dress to provide a compilation of powerful sea-inspired music.

Hosted by Wave 105’s Kate Weston, the proms will culminate in an enthralling pyrotechnic finale at 10pm.

With tickets priced at £15, the band will be hoping to raise more than £10,000 for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (RMCTF).

Keith Penny, event director at Wave 105, said: “Thursday evening’s entertainment will be a very British affair as HM Royal Marines Band Collingwood bring pomp and circumstance to Bournemouth Pier, against a dazzling pyrotechnic backdrop. This new event is definitely not to be missed!”

Since 2009, HM Royal Marines Band Collingwood have provided musical accompaniment to commemorative events and veteran’s parades across London and the south coast, including the 100th Anniversary of the First World War, and the Lord Mayor’s Show.

Wave 105 Night Air at the Piers 2015 brings three nights of musical variety to Bournemouth, with Friday’s ‘Pop Night’ bringing Alesha Dixon, Lawson, Sarah Harding, Fuse ODG and Scouting for Girls to the annual festival.

Saturday’s ‘Dance Night’ entertainment will feature live performances from Black Box, K-Klass, Karen Harding and Livin’Joy featuring Luzahnn, and DJ sets from Mark Hill – AKA Artful of Artful Dodger fame and Bournemouth’s Cut Up Boys.
