A TALENTED married Hampshire couple will exhibit their art work free of charge at the beautifully preserved Valletta barn at Fritham in the New Forest.

The exhibition combines Alan Langford’s large paintings and his wife Janet Langford’s miniatures and small pictures.

Alan is a full member of the Society of Equestrian Artists (S.E.A.) and is well known for his equestrian subjects that have movement and vitality.

There will be a number of large oils on display showing modern day events where cobs can still be seen, mostly involving the Romani Community.

Alan also loves to paint the New Forest as his backdrop for his artwork and will be showing smaller watercolours of this area.

Janet paints in acrylics and most of her work is inspired by the New Forest landscape and its villages. She creates miniatures and small delicate pictures which have the charm and atmosphere of the area.

There will also be cards and prints for sale, but we regret we have no credit card facilities, payment by cheques or cash only.

As the exhibition is part of the Hampshire Open Studio event (H.O.S.), where over 200 studios and galleries are open free of charge to visitors, you can find the Valletta barn by following the H.O.S. pink arrows from Cadnam and Brook to Fritham.

The exhibition is from Saturday, August 22 to Tuesday, August 25 from 10am to 5pm. There is easy access for the disabled and plenty of car parking space in front of the barn. Postcode is SO43 7HL.
