AN award-winning playwright, novelist and translator will discuss his latest work at a Winchester theatre.

His work has been enjoyed by millions and now Michael Frayn presents his new collection of short entertainments - 30 dialogues and monologues designed for the smallest theatre in the world, the mind's eye.

Writer and broadcaster John Miller will interview him at Theatre Royal on June 15.

Michael's novels include The Tin Men, Headlong and Skios; plays include Donkeys’ Years, Noises Off, Copenhagen and Democracy; non-fiction includes Stage Directions and My Father’s Fortune; and he has translated plays by Chekhov, Tolstoy, Trifonov and Anouilh.

Matchbox Theatre allows the reader to decide if they are reading short stories or bringing short play texts to life using their imagination and bridges writing for novels and stage.

The evening includes a free glass of wine or soft drink and is followed by a book signing.

Michael Frayn In Conversation is on June 15 at 6.30pm.

Tickets cost £12, to book call the box office on 01962 840440 or go online at theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk.
