FOUR men took to the BIC stage in a hail of screams and cheers on Friday night.

Duncan, Lee, Simon and Anthony who make up the band, Blue, sung their hearts out as they performed in Bournemouth and impressed the packed crowd.

For a boyband to be on the scene for 15 years is, these days, no small feat.

The crooners sang hits from their huge back-catalogue of music as well as an array of old school covers and new tracks from their new album, Colours.

It was a cheesey night of music but I was impressed to hear that, going against the grain, all four boys can belt out a tune and took the opportunity to sing a solo section of a song.

Each was as powerful as the other and all four men clearly loved the fact that their appeal has stood the test of time.

All Rise, Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word and One Love were the most popular songs of the night by far and it was a special moment to hear them live after buying their singles on CD and watching them on TV as a child.

The crooners seemed to have endless fun together on stage and jumped around, got the audience to wave their arms in the air and made it a real occasion to be there for ticket holders.

They also said that if the audience want them back, they'll return to Bournemouth next year and judging by the fact that so many seats sold for the event, I don't think it will be long before the boys return to the seaside.

Having been on the music scene for more than a decade, I felt the men had a new confidence about them and continue to appeal to the hardcore fans who have followed their careers through the highs and lows.
