Hampshire-born pianist Leon Greening and his new quartet perform at the Talking Heads, Southampton, tonight.
Leon has a hard, swinging style and is astute enough to have found his own voice and avoided the quicksand of copying.
Leon appears frequently at Ronnie Scott’s Club in London and other premier clubs. The quartet will be paying tribute to Milt Jackson, Victor Feldman and Bobby Timmons.
Also featured is Reading-based vibraphonist Nat Steele, another popular musician active in London.
The performance starts at 8pm.
