FANS of rockabilly can look forward to a new monthly night featuring the best of 50s rock ’n’ roll.

Eastleigh Irish Club is hosting the event which has its first opening night next Friday at the Southampton Road venue.

Lew Lewis and the Twilight Trio are the headline act who will perform two 45-minute sets on the night which begins at 7.30pm.

The 20-year old performer and his backing band will be performing some of their own songs as well as some classic hits.

DJs Wreck N Ruin Rockin’ Hop and DJ Vintage will be providing entertainment to get people bopping too.

Organiser, Vinnie King, said he hoped this would be a monthly occurrence.

He said: “This is something that the club members have been asking for and I just looked into it and got it going.

“There’s a call for it. People of all ages will want to get involved. It’s a whole family even the kids come dressed in 50s clothing it’s amazing when you see them.”

Tickets (£7.50, £5 under 16s accompanied by an adult) are available on the door.

Licensed bar, American food burgers, hot dogs and fries available.
