THIS was a lively, colourful, panto with plenty for all ages to enjoy.

Twelve-year-old Katie-Ann Miles linked the scenes confidently as Bo Bells, showcasing her lovely voice and stage presence.

Kerry Butcher is the finished article talent-wise and obviously loved every minute as principal-boy Dick, alongside another local talent in Vikki-Jo Keens as Alice Fitzwarren.

Having arrived in London penniless, acquiring a tap-dancing cat (Harry Andreou) along the way, Dick experiences mixed-fortunes.

Wrongfully accused of theft, he flees to Morocco with the whole cast as company, including evil King Rat, (the always-excellent Steven Lilly).

Mark Johnson stole every scene as Sarah the Cook but the whole cast delivered valued performances.

The unfamiliar songs, well-delivered, tended to slow the pace at times, although crystal-clear sound meant every line was heard, in front of fantastic scenery and colourful costumes.

Director David Johnson had also enlisted the ever-reliable musical backing of Teddy Clements’ band.
