A Hampshire singing school is to recruit grandmothers and grandfathers for a choir aimed at getting older people back into music.
Vocademy currently teaches youngsters in a fun, laid back atmosphere how to perform contemporary chart-topping music.
Students have gone on to record albums, form bands, and most recently, sing live on BBC’s Children in Need.
Now Vocademy, which has schools in Hove, Horsham, Worthing, Portsmouth, Southampton and Maidstone, is to launch a new initiative to get older generations to come out of their shells and back in tune.
The choir will launch next month and will meet once a week and offer an alternative to traditional choirs by offering fun, friendly and inclusive weekly rehearsals singing well-known and popular songs by stars such as Bon Jovi, Take That and Paloma Faith.
