MY first panto of Curtain Call 2015 was a home-grown affair, written by husband and wife team Alison and David Woolford, and with many stalwart Worthy Players taking to the stage, plus a few newcomers.
The script contained the right mix of story, jokes and innuendo and was performed by a cast who looked like they were enjoying themselves as much as the audience.
Sarah Kesterson narrated and sang beautifully, commanding the stage and then fading gracefully to allow the action to take place.
Barbara Kearns and Lynne Grimes (Ying and Yang) provided slapstick and energy, and Michael Heseldin (Widow Twanky) added to the humour.
Add the leading boy, Fiona Mcloughlin (Aladdin), and the beautiful princess, Connie Barnes, and you have a panto.
The set and props were far beyond what would be expected from a village hall and the costumes were bright, elaborate and plentiful. A great start to the season.
