OPERATIC performers from Hampshire will be joining singers from across Dorset and Somerset for a fantastic night of Gilbert and Sullivan music in aid of charity.
On June 21, Bournemouth’s Gilbert and Sullivan Society will raise the curtain for a musical spectacular, with proceeds all in aid of Macmillan Caring Locally.
The evening will feature singers in the chorus from operatic societies from across Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire.
For one night only, songs about a Wandering Minstrel, a Modern Major General, a Rollicking Band of Pirates and Three Little Maids will be sung by a cast of more than one hundred at the Lighthouse Theatre Poole. Audiences will enjoy the light-hearted, comical and humorously satirical songs covering themes of love, romance and more. The concert will feature favourite numbers, solos, chorus and ensembles from the whole Gilbert and Sullivan repertoire.
Fronted by operatic star and well known ‘Patter Man’ of the Gilbert and Sullivan world, Simon Butteriss, along with a 27-piece orchestra and an array of special guests, the show will take the audience on a musical journey.
