GET out and enjoy a “night in” with four top fiction writers.

Winchester Discovery Centre is hosting another “night in” next month.

Readers are invited to enjoy some brilliant book banter in the company of leading novelists.

The evening, on June 5, will feature Belinda Jones, Alexandra Potter, Emma Garcia and Helen Chandler.

All four of the writers produce excellent escapist novels, perfect for holiday reading, whether abroad or relaxing at home, and the evening will provide plenty of recommendations for summer reading.

Belinda Jones is the bestselling author of 11 “vacation for the price of a paperback” novels including the snow-spangled Winter Wonderland which was nominated for the Best Romantic Comedy by the Romantic Novelists’ Association.

The author is based in San Diego.

She is visiting Winchester as part of a UK tour to celebrate the publication of her latest novel The Travelling Tea Shop, inviting you to cosy up with a cuppa, cake and a great read.

Alexandra Potter is the author of nine internationally bestselling novels of romantic fiction with a magical twist, including Don’t Forget About Me and Me and Mr Darcy which won the Best New Fiction Award at the Jane Austen Regency World Awards.

Her latest novel is The Love Detective and starts an exciting new series where Ruby travels the world to investigate the legends of romance.

Emma Garcia’s latest novel is published on the day of the event.

OMG Baby! isn’t about babies, nappies, sleepless nights or nurseries, but it is about two people and an unexpected pregnancy. This novel follows Never Google Heartbreak and continues the adventures of her hilarious heroine Vivienne Summers.

Emma has also written and illustrated three books for children.

Helen Chandler will also be celebrating a new publication, To Have and To Hold. Her debut novel was Two For Joy, a witty and heartwarming tale of relationships, misunderstandings and second chances.

The Girls Night In event, which opens at 7pm, will also feature stalls from local businesses, including Twinkling Hearts, Sweet Treat and Lynette Jewel who will be on hand to give tasters and demonstrations of their wares.

The Discovery Centre’s café bar will also be open with a special cocktail on offer to toast the evening. The talk then begins at 7.30pm. Books will be available for sale and signing.

  • Tickets are £5, available from the Winchester Discovery Centre in person or by calling the Box Office on 01962 873603.
