THE University of Winchester’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joy Carter, pictured right, is taking part in Step Up! Winchester – a Strictly style dance contest.
The competition, organised by Winchester City Council in aid of the Mayor or Winchester’s charities and Marwell Wildlife, involves local dance schools training prominent local people with no experience.
Participants will go on to perform at the grand finale on Sunday evening at the Guildhall.
Professor Carter is performing a high energy rock ’n’ roll routine with eight dancers from the Platform School of Dance.
She said: “Platform School of Dance is an excellent local company and they have been wonderfully friendly and supportive,” said Professor Carter. “The dance sessions are a huge amount of fun and good for fitness too – it has been a great opportunity.”
