Carousel will be the next WOS production

>AFTER the success of The Sorcerer, Winchester Operatic Society are now preparing for their autumn show.

>The group will perform the Rogers and Hammerstein classic musical Carousel at Winchester's Theatre Royal from Tuesday 11 - Saturday 15 November.

>WOS last performed this show, with its central theme of the bitter sweet love story between characters Billie Bigelow and Julie Jordan, in 1995, to great acclaim.

>The show is packed with rousing numbers such as June Is Bursting Out All Over as well as the anthemic You'll Never Walk Alone.

>WOS are always on the look out for new members, either as performers or members of the backstage crew.

>The group is particularly looking for younger men.

>For anyone who is interested in joining WOS, there will be an information evening on Monday May 19 at 7.30pm, at Western School, Browning Drive, Winchester.

>The director John Barlow and musical director Dereck Beck will be there to set out plans for Carousel.

>For more information contact production secretary Jacqui Beckingham on 01962 714287.
