John Dankworth quintet heads to the Concorde

Sir John Dankworth's quintet will be appearing at the Concorde Club, Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh on Wednesday 14 May.
In a career that spans more than fifty years as a performer, composer and conductor, Sir John Dankworth combines confidence and virtuosity with eclecticism and unpredictability. It is unlikely that there is a British musician better known for a wider range of musical activities.
Sir Dankworth was elected as a member of the Worshipful Company of Musicians.
He has received the Freedom of the City of London, the Company's Silver Medal for Lifetime Contribution to British Jazz, and has been honoured in the annual British Jazz Awards a number of times for his achievements in and services to British Jazz. His services to music have earned him a CBE from Her Majesty the Queen & he was knighted in 2006 New Year's Honours list
Sir Dankworth continues to travel the world playing, conducting, composing - and continuing his untiring search for musical perfection.
