Singing group En Masse to perform in Salisbury
THE STAGE will be packed to bursting point at Salisbury Arts Centre on Sunday, May 18 as 30-piece pop and soul collective, En Masse, takes to the stage.
The group of singers, who have been putting their gospel harmony sound onto pop songs in Salisbury for more than a decade, will present their summer showcase of talent.
Songs such as Take That's Never Forget, Mika's Happy Ending and Michael Jackson's Will You Be There will get the "En Masse treatment" as they are performed by the 30 singers with a huge harmony sound, stunning lead vocals and full choreography.
The group hopes to have the audience dancing in the aisles as it puts its stamp on funky hits such as Always There by In Cognito and Make it Happen by Mariah Carey.
Last time the group performed at the Arts Centre there was an unexpected twist as group member, Kevin Badcock, proposed to his girlfriend and musical director of the group, Lizz Warner, live on stage.
Lizz said: "It was the best night of my life - we were at the end of what had been a spectacularly successful show and all of a sudden there was Kev down on one knee with a big spangly ring in his hand! Since that night the group has gone from strength to strength and this forthcoming gig promises to be our best yet! Oh - and I said 'yes' of course!"
En Masse is made up of singers from The Southern School of Popular Singing and boasts vocalists who have appeared on X Factor and supported big names such as Lemar.
Together, the group has performed at The London Palladium and The Strand Theatre, but always returns to its hometown of Salisbury to put on shows twice a year.
For tickets, which are £8.50, telephone the box office on 01722 321744. If you are interested in having singing lessons with Lizz Warner call 01722 329487.
