THE next performance by Winchester City Festival Choir will be on Saturday, January 30.
Around 85 of its members will be tackling Fauré’s Requiem, Andrew Carter’s Benedicite and Bach’s Cantata No.59.
Conducted by Robert Fielding, the choir will perform with the Romsey Abbey choristers and soloists, Alice Coram and Ashley Riches. The singers will perform the Rutter “original” orchestration of the well-loved Fauré, with doubled violas replacing violins.
The event will take place in the performing arts centre at St Swithun’s School, Alresford Road, Winchester. Doors open at 7.30pm.
Tickets, priced at £14 each, or £7 for students are available from the Theatre Royal box office in Jewry Street, Winchester, by ringing 01962 840440 or visiting www.theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk.
