THE Lark Rise Band is coming to the Discovery Centre in Jewry Street, Winchester, on Friday, October 2.
The group was founded by Ashley Hutchings to coincide with a production of the classic play, Lark Rise to Candleford, at the National Theatre.
The play has long since run its course, but the band that was formed because of it has gone from strength to strength.
Ashley Hutchings has previously been involved with such classic folk acts as Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band.
The Lark Rise Band builds upon that rich tradition of British folk-rock, with a collection of songs that take their lead from bygone rural England.
The show starts at 8pm. Call 01962 873603 for more details.
