AWARD-WINNING clarinet players, Julian Marc Stringle and Mark Crooks, are coming to the Concorde Club, Eastleigh.
They will be playing “That Clarinet Vibe” on Wednesday, February 25.
They describe themselves as a tribute to Benny Goodman and Buddy de Franco. Unusually, it’s a case of two clarinettists who are award-winners in their own right, performing together.
Described by Johnny Dankworth as “probably the best clarinettist to emerge for decades” and winner of two British Jazz Awards, Julian’s unique sound is complemented by Mark’s distinctive style.
They are joined by an excellent backing group of Jim Hart on vibes, Craig Milverton on piano, Matt Home on drums and Paul Morgan on bass.
Cole Mathieson, managing director of the club, said: “It is a date in our diary that’s not to be missed.”
Call 023 8061 3989 or visit www.theconcordeclub.com to book tickets: Members £11, Non members £16.
Although the venue is a private members club, the Wednesday jazz concerts are open to non members.
