Winchester actor Thomas Woodman takes to the stage in his hometown this month in an adaptation of Roald Dahl's well-loved children's book, Danny Champion of the World, currently on a national tour with Birmingham Stage Company.
Tom, who will appear as Rabbetts the gamekeeper, lives in Winchester and trained in Chichester. His repertoire has included parts as wide-ranging as Shakespeare and pantomime, as well as performing in schools across the south of England while touring with the Rainbow Theatre Company.
Tom comments, "When first touring with the play in 2006, I took the part of cheery policeman Sergeant Samways, but after playing the role for nine months I've turned to the dark side' and become a baddie, which is great fun!" Roald Dahl fans will remember Rabbetts the Gamekeeper as the nasty sidekick of mean Mr Hazell, who wants to evict hero Danny and his dad from their caravan home. Danny Champion of the World is playing at Theatre Royal Winchester from 27-31 May.
Tickets cost £15.00/£13.00(concessions)/ £45.00 family ticket.
