From the writer of the smash hit Oscar-nominated Billy Elliot, comes the extraordinary, accessible and compelling play Spoonface Steinberg.
The one-woman play, which is showing at The Nuffield Theatre Studio from Monday 12 to Wednesday 14 May, was first broadcast on Radio 4 to unprecedented public reaction.
Spoonface Steinberg is a deeply moving and thought-provoking story about the experiences of Spoonface, a nine year-old girl with an infectious perspective on life. She is affected by autism, and her quirky and eloquent take on the world around her is mesmerising, poignant and, at times, very funny.
We find out about Spoonface's love of opera, her savant qualities, and the complex lives of the grown ups around her.
Slowly we realise that she is terminally ill, and that we are witnessing the swansong of quite an extraordinary little girl.
Please note that all 7.30pm performances have sold out. Tickets are only available for an additional performance to be held on Tuesday 13 May at 9pm.
Spoonface Steinberg will be returning to The Nuffield Theatre in the autumn.
Tickets £10 (with concessions available) For more information about the theatre and its programme visit www.nuffieldtheatre.co.uk or call the box office on 023 8031 5500
