The successful Winchester Poetry Festival is now seeking new trustees

The Poetry Festival, now working towards its third biennial festival, wishes to recruit additional Trustees with appropriate experience, skill and commitment to steer the organisation towards the next festival in 2018 and beyond.

Trustees serve in a voluntary capacity but with the satisfaction of supporting a distinctive and highly-regarded arts charity. The board is concerned with maintaining the festival’s reputation for surprising and delighting its audiences, fostering new partnerships, maintaining a robust financial operation, and broadening the audience base.

Winchester Poetry Festival aims to be the leading dedicated poetry event in the south of England. The charity, founded in 2013, puts on the biennial festival, a diverse celebration of the best in contemporary poetry, as well as other occasional events, and runs the annual Winchester Poetry Prize which was introduced in 2016 and attracted in excess of 1400 entries.

The festival chairman Stephen Boyce said, “If you have a passion for poetry and can make a creative and strategic contribution to the board of this small charity, Winchester Poetry Festival would like to hear from you.”

For further information and/or an informal conversation please email the chairman, Stephen Boyce, at hello@winchesterpoetryfestival.org. To apply please send details of your skills and experience to the same email with an outline of what you think you could bring to the organisation. The closing date is April 30.
