A classic Hollywood depiction of First World War flying aces will be screened in a museum full of vintage of aircraft.
The Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop continues its Third Wednesday programme of events with a showing of The Dawn Patrol on a 14ft screen in its Hayward Hall on November 19 at 7pm.
The 1938 movie (a re-make of a 1930 film of the same name), stars Errol Flynn, Basil Rathbone and David Niven as Royal Flying Corps fighter pilots based in France.
The film includes a lot of original aerial footage from the 1930 film – bombings, crashes, low-level flying, and wobbly take-offs – and provides an entertaining yet poignant view into the relationships between the men.
Tickets for the screening cost £5 or £10 to include a two-course hot supper with a drink. Tickets can be booked at armyflying.com or by calling 01264 784421.
