PREVIEW
The Bands of the Royal Air Force, The Anvil, Basingstoke
IT has been 50 years since the first display season of the aerobatic display team we all know and love.
Now to mark the Red Arrows’ milestone, cadets in Basingstoke will represent the Air Cadet Organisation at the concert by the Bands of the Royal Air Force on October 29.
The annual concert tour raises money for the RAF Charitable Trust, which has awarded over £2.5 million to projects since it started in 2005.
Flight Sergeant Amy Husband, 17, said: “It is one of the squadron’s seasonal highlights.
“Many of the cadets have seen the Red Arrows in action at least once – it’s almost an entry requirement to join the Air Cadet Organisation!
“The pilots show skills developed from a young age, many of them having been Air Cadets themselves, and they are fantastic ambassadors for the RAF and Great Britain.
“It’s a privilege to be associated with them at the concert.”
BBC broadcaster, Alan Dedicoat, will be the compere at Basingstoke.
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £17-£23. To book call 01256 844 244, or go to: rafinconcert.com.
