IT IS a family affair for chamber choir, Romsey Singers, as they gear up for their next big concert.

On Saturday April 12 they will perform Fauré’s Requiem in Romsey Abbey as one part of their Easter programme.

The last time the choir performed this piece was in 2007, when the boy treble was Joseph Wicks, son of the Romsey Singers’ director, Ian Wicks.

Seven years on, and Wicks the elder is still enjoying the company of the Romsey Singers, while Joseph is organ scholar at St John’s College, Cambridge, and will be accompanying the choir for this concert. The treble will be taken by Joseph’s younger sister, Rosanna, and to complete the family gathering, mother Elizabeth Wicks, is joining the altos for the concert.

The concert programme also includes Allegri’s soaring Miserere, and other sacred pieces.
