IT is not only the signature tune of a legendary Motown girl band but it is one of the world’s most iconic pop songs.

Dancing In The Street was first recorded by Martha and The Vandellas in 1964 and Eastleigh’s Concorde Club will be one of the stops on a world tour as the Martha Reeves celebrates the 50th anniversary of the famous single.

In a coup for the Stoneham Lane club, her group will, on September 25, re-create her hits.

The show is part of a star-studded season including giants from the world of entertainment and sport, including a cricketing icon.

Superstar songstresses include Elkie Brooks (September 19) Kiki Dee (October 10) Clare Teal (October 22) and Joan Armatrading (October 31).

Cornish stand-up comedian Jethro appears on June 29.

Former Supreme Kaaren Ragland and Motown recording artist Johnny Britt get together for Motor City Memories on May 9.

From London’s West End the cast of Carnaby Street The Concert will hit the stage on May 17.
