A WEEKEND exhibition of new paintings by Chris Gollon will be held at Stockbridge Town Hall.

The works will be on show between 11am and 6pm on Saturday March 15 and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday.

Gollon is a well-established artist with a growing market in Hampshire so his representatives IAP Fine Art decided to premiere the new work in Stockbridge.

You Can’t Go Back, You Think You Can, But You Can’t revisits Berlin of the 1920s and 30s before the Nazis took over.

It ponders whether the recent attempts at the revival of burlesque cabaret in modern Berlin are possible. This has opened up for Gollon all manner of thoughts and images about fashion, time and the decisions we make, and whether or not it is really possible to go back?

The exhibition’s title painting is a Gollonesque cover version of Otto Dix’s famous portrait of Sylvia von Harden, which is also the opening tableau vivant camera shot of the film Cabaret.
