Mayor is "privileged" to showcase Winchester's artistic gems

A RARE opportunity to pore over some of Winchester's most treasured art works continues at City Space.
The annual Mayor's Choice exhibition showcases paintings of the city, as well as towns and villages like Alresford, Wickham, Bishop's Waltham and Hursley.
The works, chosen by mayor Frank Pearson, are normally stored away.
Councillr Pearson said: “The exhibition will also display items from my own village (Swanmore) that have been carefully collected together and looked after by our village archivist.”
He said it had been a privilege to explore Winchester City Council Museums' art store with the help of a curator.
The Mayor's Choice exhibition is free to enter and will run until Sunday, February 3.
