TICKETS for the Alresford Music Festival are now on sale and organisers have decided to seize upon the 'austerity Britain' trend.
Prices have been slashed by 25 per cent for 2011, which means an adult ticket for the one-day event will cost £15 and family passes are £40.
Discounts for students and large groups will also be available for the show, which will take place at the Perins School playing fields in Alresford.
The festival is now in its second year and organisers hope to build on last year's debut event.
Marketing manager Tim Miller said: “Last year a number of people commented that our ticket prices were too high.
“We have taken that feedback on board and come up with a new pricing structure that we feel makes the event more affordable.
“We understand that everyone has less money to spend this year so we hope that by reducing the ticket price the people of Alresford will still be able to come along and enjoy this fantastic event.”
Ken Veitch, who chairs the event, said: “Early sponsorship from local companies has meant that we are less reliant on early ticket sales this year and we are very pleased to be in a position to pass this on in terms of reduced prices - it makes for a great value event for all the family.”
The festival on Saturday, June 18 will feature live music on two stages, a beer tent, and children's entertainment area.
There will also be around 15 bands, including several Hampshire acts, performing throughout the day.
Details of the 2011 line-up will be revealed soon, and more details about tickets are available at www.alresfordmusicfestival.com.
