One of New Zealand’s finest avant-garde punk bands, Die! Die! Die!, will perform at The Railway Inn on Sunday, October 19, as part of the Winchester Live festival.
Winchester Live is a new week-long festival running from October 13–19. It is organised by Placid Piranha Promotions, run by Winchester-based promoter Rob Ball, and aims to promote the area of Winchester and Hampshire to the music industry.
Lauded for their blistering live shows, the Die!Die!Die! trio have just released their second album, Promises Promises, on SAF Records.
It will be followed new single Sideways Here We Come and was preceded by a run of live European dates, including London club nights.
The band, who originate from Dunedin in New Zealand, are Andrew Wilson, Lochlan Anderson and Michael Prian. They have been together for four years.
Andrew, speaking from Italy before the Winchester show, said: “We all came from a punk back ground and we don’t mind sleeping on floors! If we were back in New Zealand, we would be doing something similar, touring and gigging.”
Happening across three venues and boasting 11 gigs in seven nights, The Winchester Live Festival will take place at The Railway, The Tower and the Vault, part of Winchester University.
The line up for Winchester Live is as follows: Monday October 13: The Vault: Youthmovies, Post War Years, Sam Isaac, Luke Leighfield and Nicotine Smile (16+).
Tuesday October 14: The Tower: Emmy The Great, Peggy Sue, The Wellbeing and Phil King (14+).
Wednesday 15th October 15: The Tower: Imperial Leisure, Ramblings, Mavis Grind and Django (14+). The Railway: When The Lights Go Out present: Fox Cubs, Birdpen, Moneytree and The Scarlet Letter Union (16+).
Thursday October 16: The Railway: Gideon Conn, Barefoot Confessor, The Gladrags and Blisskrieg (16+).
Friday October 17: The Tower: SixNationState, The Foxes, S***! Hot Llamas and Alex & The Ligers. (16+).
Saturday October 18: The Vault: Art Brut, Thomas Tantrum, SomaHigh, Subliminal Girls, Hijera and Fresh Legs (16+). The Tower: Mumford & Sons, Jay Jay Pistolet, Ryan O’Reilly, Derek Meins, Beans on Toast, Cherbourg, Thos Henley and Handshake (14+) The Railway: Shaped By Fate, Eta Carinae + Incarna (18+) Sunday October 19: The Tower: The Clik Clik, Rosie Odd & The Odd Squad + Casablancas (14+).
