SEATTLE based singer/songwriter Laura Veirs will appear at Winchester Discovery Centre next month.
The performers sings personal songs of romantic intoxication, everyday vignettes and occasional social commentary that are often heavy on introspection and intense in character and scrutiny.
She put out her own self titled CD, recorded live and featuring just her and her guitar and she also put out her second album, The Triumphs & Travails of Orphan Mae.
In 2003 Laura brought out Troubled by the Fire, a full band effort and the following year she signed to the Nonesuch label and recorded Carbon Glacier, followed by Year of Meteors in August 2005 and Saltbreakers in 2007.
Laura Veirs will play the Winchester Discovery Centre, in Jewry Street, on Wednesday July 9.
