New Year heralds a new team leader at Strutt & Parker

Strutt & Parker’s New Year announcement is that Jake Civardi now heads up the Winchester team, replacing long standing agent George Burnand. Jake begins this new role as a full partner at Strutt & Parker, in a period of exciting growth and will help to drive business within the Winchester office.  Simon North, who is also a Partner at the Winchester office adds his considerable knowledge and experience having been in Winchester for over 30 years, in both town and country properties.

Jake joined the Winchester team as an Associate Partner in November 2014 and has embraced the role of selling country and village houses across Hampshire. Jake comments: “I love the variety of houses that this role has enabled me to see. Whilst property is important, it is also the people that I really enjoy dealing with.”

Prior to Strutt & Parker, Jake had more than 11 years of estate agency experience in central London at some of the most reputable firms. He managed a successful office in Pimlico & Westminster for five years and comes with a wealth of experience. Educated at Marlborough College and then Edinburgh University, he has also worked in the Middle East and the U.S. He also comes with an extensive list of contacts and links from London to generate and facilitate buyers looking to make that move, as well as advising all buyers with his extensive local knowledge.

Jake moved to Dummer six years ago with his wife and has two children who now attend Preston Candover School. Jake says: “Now happily ensconced in country life, I have made a wide circle of friends here and couldn’t imagine ever leaving Hampshire. My kids love it!”

Jake believes the market in Winchester will maintain a steady growth throughout 2017, as the town market continues to improve. He says: “We’ve been surprised even in the first week of the New Year how busy the phones have been – the market is starting early. If you are thinking about selling your property, this year in particular, I would do it pre-spring as there are geo-political events expected further down the road that may affect the economy and therefore buyer confidence.

“We’ve noticed there are a lot of downsizers looking for homes in Winchester, Alresford and Stockbridge, and also lots of families moving from London looking for the perfect family home. Any good sized 4/5 bedroom property with a decent sized garden in a village environment will appeal to these families especially.

“There is also a good deal of development happening in Winchester at the moment, and with Winchester constantly hitting headlines and topping poles for one of the best places to live, there is constant buzz and desire for people to live here. I am really excited to start this new role at this busy time.”
